The Courage Lies Within You (2024)

This project focused on 12 little-known but relevant historical figures associated with the State of Alabama. Emphasis is placed on educating students and the general public about the significant contributions of these people amidst the many societal obstacles they have had to face. Profiles were selected with a focus on diversity. Each profile has been assigned to an individual composer; the idea is to have diverse musical styles to reflect the diversity of the profiled people. Each composition will be preceded by a three-minute documentary, which was researched by Department of History students and underscored by variations of the original“The Courage Lies Within You” theme music.
